Hurricane Irma Update: 9/10/2017

  • The Glenview at Pelican Bay. We have evacuated in advance of the arrival of Hurricane Irma.  Residents and staff arrived safely on Friday afternoon and evening at our temporary residences where we will remain for the duration of the event.  Residents are comfortable and in good spirits as they settle into their accommodations.  The addresses and phone numbers of our temporary locations are listed below: Health Center residents are residing at Bayshore Memory Care and are enjoying the support and comradery of their fellow residents, staff, family and pets.  Bayshore Memory Care is located at 1260 Creekside Blvd E in Naples, FL 34109  Phone: (239) 213-9370Residents, employees, guests and pets sheltering at Bayshore Memory Care are doing well. They enjoyed dinner this evening once the hurricane passed through Naples and are currently resting comfortably.  The community is still without power however the generator is providing power to the community. The community has all the required resources in place including food, water, medical supplies, and staff. Emergency personnel are aware the community is sheltering in place and have been in contact with the community. Independent Living residents evacuated to Orlando where they have settled into their hotel rooms equipped with the supplies and amenities necessary to ensure everyone’s comfort and wellbeing. They are residing in two hotels within close proximity of each other in Winter Garden. The hotel staff met with Glenview residents and staff to review hurricane safety procedures. Residents have been spending time visiting, playing cards, and watching storm updates. The two hotels are connected by an adjacent restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel staff are providing meal delivery service from the restaurant for Glenview residents if requested during their stay.

  • Bayshore Memory Care, Naples. LCS had contact with Bayshore Naples as of 9:20 p.m. ET, Sunday, September 10.  Community Leadership reports that the residents, employees and guests sheltering at  Bayshore Memory Care are doing well.  They enjoyed dinner this evening once the hurricane passed through Naples and are currently resting comfortably.  The community is still without power however the generator is providing power to the community.  The community has all the required resources in place including food, water, medical supplies, and staff.  Emergency personnel are aware the community is sheltering in place and have been in contact with the community.  Calls can be directed to the community main line at (239) 213-9370 or to the LCS Emergency Hotline at (888) 214-8464 for updates.  We will update this website as more information is available.

  • Gentry Park Orlando. As Hurricane Irma continues its northward march, all residents and staff are safe and operations continue as normal. We have all required resources in place including food, water, medical supplies, staff and a backup generator and will shelter in place at the community throughout the event.   • Elan Spanish Springs. As Hurricane Irma continues its northward march, all residents and staff are safe and operations continue as normal.   • Volterra at Solivita Marketplace. As Hurricane Irma approaches, we are monitoring the forecast and taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our residents and staff.  After careful consideration and discussions with management and leadership, residents will remain at Volterra at Solivita Marketplace during the storm. The community is fully prepared for the storm with ample supplies, food, and staff. The safety of the residents and staff are our highest priority. We’ll continue to update our website with developments as they become available. Call 407-343-5044 if you have any questions. Should we lose power at the community, our emergency line is 1-888-214-8484.
  • Sinai Residences Boca Raton. As Hurricane Irma approaches, we are monitoring the forecast and taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our residents and staff. After careful consideration and discussions with management and leadership, residents will remain at the Toby & Leon Cooperman Sinai Residences during Hurricane Irma. The community is fully prepared for the storm with ample supplies, food, and staff.

Palm Beach County has imposed a curfew that began at 3 p.m. on Saturday and will stay in effect until further notice. The community has not lost power, but currently our phones and internet are down. Please use the Life Care Services emergency hotline listed below if you have questions or need additional information.

  • The Marshes of Skidaway Island. We have evacuated our community in preparation for Hurricane Irma. At this time we do not yet have a return date and will evaluate our ability to return once the storm has passed and the condition of the campus has been determined. As of 10:00 a.m. on Sunday 9/10, Chatham County Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) is reporting the following:

·Projecting sustained tropical force winds beginning around 10pm Sunday night and expected to continue to 6pm Monday evening.

·Expect storm surge 4-6 foot above astronomical tide levels.

·Curfew will begin tonight at 10PM thru 6am tomorrow.

The Oak’s Health Center and Assisted Living residents evacuated on Friday, September 8th at 9:30 a.m. and arrived safely at The Cobblestone Health Center at Park Springs in Stone Mountain, GA. Residents are in good spirits and enjoying the hospitality and comradery offered by The Cobblestone residents and staff. Residents are receiving the care and attention needed to ensure each person’s health, comfort and safety.

The independent living residents evacuated on Saturday, September 9th at 7:30 a.m. and have arrived safely in Raleigh where we will reside at the Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley for the duration of the event.  3:55 p.m. CDT

  • The Cypress of Hilton Head. We have evacuated our community in advance of the arrival of Hurricane Irma. Hilton Head Island is still under mandatory evacuation orders with the storm projected to impact our area over the next 24 to 36 hours. Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office has ordered a curfew on Hilton Head Island from 7 p.m. each evening until 7 a.m. each morning. The following watches and warnings are in effect for Beaufort County: Tropical Storm Warning, Hurricane Watch, Flash Flood Watch. A four to six foot storm surge is predicted and may cause significant flooding.

An order from the Mayor’s office for re-entry onto the Island will not occur until the Governor has first lifted the mandatory evacuation order for the Beaufort County barrier islands AND the Emergency Room at the Hilton Head Hospital is open and operational.

We are not yet able to provide a date when residents will be returning to The Cypress. We will evaluate our ability to safely return once local authorities have granted permission for re-entry and the condition of our campus has been determined.

The residents of The Preston Health Center are residing at two locations in South Carolina where they are receiving the attention and care needed to support each person’s health, safety and comfort. Our Medical Director, Dr. Hall, was on site today and visited every resident. Preston residents at both locations are in good spirits and doing well. Independent Living residents have checked into comfortable guest rooms located near Charlotte, NC. Residents are settled in and comfortable. Many participated in worship services today with plans to watch football and storm updates throughout the afternoon. Transportation is being provided for residents to visit loved ones who are temporarily residing at Rolling Green Village or the The Wellmore.

  • Sandhill Cove. We are continuing to monitor the forecast as Hurricane Irma makes landfall on the West Coast of Florida. .We have taken all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our residents and staff. We have an ample amount of supplies, backup generator and staff on hand. All residents have checked in and are safe in their apartments. They are prepared to remain there for the duration of the storm, which is expected to last up to two days. The community still has power, phone lines are working and the building structure remains in good condition. We are happy to report that all is well as residents are enjoying the camaraderie and activities are scheduled throughout the day.   • Bayshore Hilton Head. For the safety of our staff and residents, we have evacuated the community in advance of the arrival of Hurricane Irma.  We’re happy to report all arrived safely on Saturday afternoon at The Glen at Lake Oconee Village in Greensboro, Georgia (706) 999-3535 where we will remain for the duration of the event.  Residents are comfortable and in good spirits as they settle into their temporary accommodations. The community has all the required resources in place including food, water, medical supplies, and staff. The community has a generator that will operate the community, including the elevators. Emergency personnel are aware the community is sheltering in place and have been in contact with the community as well.
