Hurricane Irma Update: 9/8/2017

  • The Marshes of Skidaway Island. We are evacuating our community in preparation for Hurricane Irma. The Oak’s Health Center and Assisted Living residents evacuated Friday, September 8th at 9:30 a.m. and have arrived safely at The Cobblestone Health Center at Park Springs in Stone Mountain, GA. Residents are in good spirits as they settle into their accommodations where they will receive the care and attention needed to ensure each person’s health, comfort and safety for the duration of this event.

The independent living residents will be evacuating on Saturday, September 9th between 6 and 7 a.m. We will be going to Raleigh, NC to the Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley, phone is 919-781-7000.   • Glenview at Pelican Bay. We have evacuated our community in advance of the arrival of Hurricane Irma.  Residents and staff have arrived safe and sound at our temporary residences where we will remain for the duration of the event. Residents are comfortable and in good spirits as they settle into their accommodations. The addresses and phone numbers of our temporary locations are listed below:

Health Center residents arrived at Bayshore Memory Care this afternoon in time to enjoy a nice dinner and comradery with fellow residents and staff. Bayshore Memory Care is located at 1260 Creekside Blvd E in Naples, FL 34109  Phone: (239) 213-9370.

Independent Living residents have arrived safely in Orlando and have checked into hotels rooms equipped with the supplies and amenities necessary to ensure everyone’s comfort and wellbeing. They are residing in two hotels within close proximity of each other in Winter Garden.They are:

  • Sandhill Cove. As Hurricane Irma approaches, we are monitoring the forecast and taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our residents and staff. All residents are in their apartments, and will remain there during the duration of the storm. The community is fully prepared with ample supplies, backup generator and staff. 4:45 p.m. CDT

  • Beach House Jacksonville Beach. As Hurricane Irma approaches, we are monitoring the forecast and taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our residents and staff. The residents and staff will be evacuating to Clarity Pointe Jacksonville on Friday September 8th where we have all required resources in place to meet their needs throughout the event.

2:35 p.m. CDT

  • The Cypress of Hilton Head. We have evacuated our community in preparation for Hurricane Irma. The Preston Health Center residents are en route to another Life Care Services managed community called Rolling Green Village, located at 1 Hoke Smith Boulevard, Greenville, SC 29615. The phone number is 864-987-9800. The independent living residents are en route to The Heritage International Ministries Conference Center at 375 Starlight Drive, Fort Mill, SC (877-446-3836). 12:15 p.m. CDT

  • Glenview at Pelican Bay. After careful consideration and discussions with management, leadership and local authorities, The Glenview at Pelican Bay is evacuating. Health Center residents are being transported to Bayshore Memory Care located at 1260 Creekside Blvd E in Naples, FL 34109 Phone: (239) 213-9370. Independent Living residents are travelling by bus to hotel accommodations in Orlando. The busses are equipped with bathrooms and are well-stocked with provisions in the event of traffic delays en route. Residents will have comfortable accommodations at two hotels within close proximity of each other. They are:
