Beginning with the start of Joel’s professional career in the operations of a retirement community, he has been committed to the delivery of services that provide high resident satisfaction. As Joel became an executive director and during the time he was the director of operations management for Life Care Services, An LCS Company, he focused his attention on exceeding the expectations of residents who live in communities managed by Life Care Services. Now as president of LCS, Joel remains steadfast in assuring residents and their families that living in a community managed by Life Care Services is the best decision they could make.
Joel is responsible for the day-to-day operating activities and ensures the company vision, strategy, and financial plans are successfully executed. Joel is responsible for leading the company’s three senior living management divisions within Life Care Services, and LCS Real Estate and LCS Development business lines.
Rick joined the company in 1978 and is executive vice president/senior managing director of life plan communities for Life Care Services, An LCS Company. He is responsible for oversight of the company’s life plan community management services. Rick’s expertise is leading the operations of senior living communities so they run more efficiently, effectively and profitably. He joined Life Care Services in 1978 as an administrator in training and rose through the organization in various leadership positions before assuming his current position in 2011. Rick serves on the board of managers for Life Care Services, the board of directors for LCS Holdings, Inc., executive leadership and senior living management teams. Rick is also a trustee for the Company’s 401(k) benefits program. He holds dual bachelor’s degrees, one in business administration from Simpson College and one in health care administration from Oklahoma Baptist University. He is also a graduate of the Executive Institute at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Rick has been a featured guest speaker at LeadingAge and other various state and national trade associations.
Chris is a respected leader in the field of senior living with a track record in leading operations, building occupancy, fostering capital partner relationships in the real estate and developing new business. Most recently, he has served on the Brookdale Senior Living leadership team as division president. Prior to joining Brookdale, Bird spent seven years working at Marriott Senior Living Services, which was later acquired by Sunrise Senior Living. He has had the opportunity to serve seniors since 1996. As leader of Rental, Chris will focus on meeting the needs of the residents, helping associates with engagement and achieving their goals, and delivering the bottom line for owners and shareholders. Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Memphis.
Judi is the senior vice president/director of special assets. She currently oversees special owned community assets to ensure long-term viability of investments as LCS grows its real estate ownership. She joined Life Care Services, An LCS Company, in August 1986, and has held numerous operational leadership positions, including senior vice president/director of LCS equity communities and senior vice president/director of asset management. Judi served as chair of LeadingAge Florida from 2005-2007 and was the recipient of the organization’s “Distinguished Service Award” in 2009. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and is a licensed nursing home administrator.
Laura manages the day-to-day operations of the health care division. Her leadership directly influences all aspects of care that residents receive at any community managed by Life Care Services. For instance, Laura oversees Heartfelt CONNECTIONS – A Memory Care Program®. Under Laura’s guidance, the program’s team dedicates themselves to creating life-affirming activities and providing person-centered care. Through her management of the clinical teams, expertise in clinical care and adherence to regulatory compliance, nearly 90% of health centers managed by Life Care Services have 4 star ratings or higher on the CMS scale.
Laura joined the organization in 2001 and has served in numerous regulatory, compliance and quality assurance positions for Life Care Services. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University.
Tony oversees the implementation of wellness programs for communities managed by Life Care Services through Lifestyle and Health Services Wellness. His work leading an interdisciplinary team directly affects the lives of residents, enhancing their physical, emotional and social identities while benefiting their overall health and happiness. Tony has worked in the health and wellness industry for more than 13 years, specializing in senior health with a focus on lifestyle programming. He earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where his research focused on fall prevention among the senior population.
Earl Wade is the vice president/senior director of business development for LCS. He is responsible for assisting the LCS Family of Companies with structuring strategic relationships, establishing new partnerships and expanding into new territories.
Before founding CRSA in 1989, Earl served as a partner with the accounting firm of Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young), where he led the firm’s senior housing consulting practice. He has served on the board of directors of CRSA Holdings, the BayWoods Cooperative Housing Association, and the Trezevant Episcopal Home. He has also been a member of the advisory committee to the National Continuing Care Data Base and the NIC owner operator advisory council. A graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in accounting, Earl is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and LeadingAge.
