Tropical Depression Florence: 9/22/2018

The following is an update from communities impacted by the storm. For additional details, please reference the community’s website or call the LCS Emergency Hotline at 888-214-8464.

5:30 p.m. CDT

  • Plantation VillageWelcome home!  All residents and staff who evacuated to Greensboro have arrived home to Plantation Village safe and sound.  Residents who self-evacuated may return to campus now at your discretion.  We ask those residents who will be traveling back to Plantation Village on their to own to use caution and consult local authorities including NC DOT for an official resource regarding road closures and accessible routes to Wilmington ( https://tims.ncdot.gov/tims/ ).  There is no longer a curfew in effect for New Hanover County.  (New Hanover County information hotline is 910-798-6800).  Due to the extensive clean-up efforts that are currently underway, all residents are asked to enter the campus via The Davis Community entrance (take Porters Neck Rd to Champ Davis Rd, to Jeanelle Moore Blvd).  Upon your return please check in with security by calling the security phone at 910-228-4118.

We are grateful that our buildings were spared from any significant structural damage, however, please be aware that we have experienced extensive loss of trees and limbs across our campus in addition to some water intrusion and minor wind damage.  Crews are on site working diligently to make all necessary repairs and clear the fallen trees and limbs.  We expect this work to continue for some time which may cause some disruption to our normal operations as that work progresses to completion.  Normal dining services will not begin until Sunday morning with an extended-hours brunch buffet which will be available in the auditorium from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  For residents arriving on Saturday, you will find that we have provided each person with a take-out meal that will be waiting in your refrigerators.

The safety and well-being of our residents and staff remain our highest priority and we will continue to provide regular updates as residents make their way back home to Plantation Village. For any questions please call our Life Care Services emergency hotline at 888-214-8464.
